For me, the scariest part of Halloween is what is lurking behind my pantry door… the monster sized bag of mini chocolate candybars. I swear I can hear them whispering my name.
I realized all this candy sneaking had gone too far when last night I was actually doing sit ups while a Reese’s peanut butter cup was dissolving in my mouth.
Sigh.
That is why I am not blogging about cupcakes or cookies today.

I was so excited to get a package of syrups from my friends over at Nature’s Flavors last week, and I immediately pictured the syrup bottles used at our favorite bubble tea shop. It has been too long since we had some chewy, sweet and slippery pearl tapioca bubble tea in this house.

Last year I made spicy apple butter via the slow cooker… it was so good I made it this year too. But I also made applesauce, which is essentially the same ingredients and cooking method but the cooking time is much shorter.
