Finding the right chocolate chip cookie recipe is kind of like dating. Once you fall in love you stop looking. You either have one you LOVE and stick to it or you just keep trying new ones. I used to be a dater. I tried everything, even the one on the back of the chocolate chip bag. I know. Sad. Fortunately for me I never met a chocolate chip cookie I didn’t like.

Well folks, that was before.

Then one glorious day I found this recipe from Roland Mesnier, former White House pastry chef. It was love at first bite and I never strayed again.

Cauliflower, Endive & White Bean Salad
We are taking advantage of the beautiful weather here in Northern California by using the BBQ while we can still enjoy it. I was getting a little tired of watermelon and corn on the cob sides, so to mix it up a little I made this beautiful and delicious cauliflower salad. The recipes makes quite a bit, so you might want to halve it if you are cooking only for your family.

Ginger Lemon Cream Cheese Cupcakes
Are these cupcakes or muffins? I was out to make muffins but I think these are technically cupcakes. Why? The little bit of cream cheese baked into the top as well as the extra sugar in the batter. Apparently, muffins should have about half the amount of sugar. But I like to think of these as a hybrid because they seem a little bit lighter than having gobs of frosting on the top. The cream cheese is just the right amount of sweetness and texture variant and perfectly compliments the gingery cake it sits on top of.
