Turtle Candies

Chocolate Turtle Candies

Warning: these are dangerously easy to pop into your mouth. If you are not paying attention, you could eat them all before you gift bag them. Don’t ask how, I just know.

Chocolate Turtle Candies

These are a great project for kids… my 3 year old helped by unwrapping all the rolos, setting them on the pretzels on the prepared baking sheet. At this point I took over and baked them for 4 minutes, then pressed the pecans on top when they came out of the oven.

Just baked, a pecan pressed on top.

I will be gifting these in small bags and sending them to several of my relatives this year. A few will become stocking stuffers. And another few will become teacher gifts. It’s almost too easy to make a whole bunch of these!
Huge Batch of Turtle Candies

Recipe: Turtle Candies

Ingredients

  • pretzels of your choice
  • chocolate rolos candy
  • pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Place rolos on top of pretzels, onto the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 4 minutes.
  5. When warm, gently press the pecan on top.
  6. Let cool, speed this process up by placing in the refrigerator.

Preparation time: 5 minute(s)

Cooking time: 4 minute(s)

****Note**** the rolo will not appear melted down, it will smoosh down very easily with the pecan. If you over bake, then the carmel center will spill out of the overcooked and dry chocolate. 4 minutes is really all you need.
