Perfectly Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients
  • 3 cups + 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ⅔ cup light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (1 12-ounce bag)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Using your electric mixer with a paddle attachment, beat together the butter and both sugars. Add the eggs, molasses, and vanilla.
  3. Slowly add the flour mixture until combined.
  4. Add chocolate chips and walnuts.
  5. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 400F.
  7. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  8. Roll cookie dough balls about 1 tablespoon in size. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until golden. Let cool on baking racks.
  9. These store well for several days in an airtight container.
